A Homebirth Transfer to Tidalhealth PRMC | Birth Photography Eastern Shore of MD

I'm hoping someday Jen will be able to share her story from her perspective and I can update this post with her side of the story.

The moment I met Jen and saw her beautiful, cozy home I was so excited to be on her birth team. I was hired as a doula as well as a photographer.

There were so many things that happened differently than was Jen and her family expected. A beautiful planned home birth turned hospital transfer for an induction, turned cesarean section.

As a new doula I felt completely out of my depth to serve this sweet couple through this time. After talking to my own support team I felt more confident, I just had to be there for them, support them however they need. And that's what I did.

I wasn't able to be in the OR but the hospital thankfully was open to a second support person so I was able to be there during her labor and in the PACU for a couple of hours after the baby was born.

Sweet Olivia is so very loved and has a strong mama. I can't wait to see her grow up!

"the moment a child is born, a mother is born also."

much love,

Olivia
